Services | Siebel interfaces

Fusion Integration has a wealth of experience of building interfaces into Siebel.  Our popular solutions for Life Sciences companies includes the following two interfaces.

Call Sharing Interfaces

Pharmaceutical companies often wish to share details of their sales calls with other partner companies.

Fusion Integration has built several call-sharing interfaces for companies such as Aventis and Boehringer-Ingelheim. These interfaces typically use FTP to exchange text files with the selected partner. The text files must be imported and exported from the client's Siebel system. Our interfaces support all these processes, can run in client-defined configurations and can be run as automated, scheduled tasks

When Boehringer-Ingelheim adopted our technology for new call sharing initiatives, the project time per interface fell by more than 68% when compared to their previous technology. They have also found that the resulting interfaces are faster and more reliable than their previous solutions and are considering moving their existing interfaces onto this technology as the savings in support time are so significant.

Interfaces with Data Suppliers

Most UK pharmaceutical companies use a data supplier to provide details of people working in the UK National Health Services. The main data suppliers are Binleys and Dendrite who market their Pharbase database.

In order to fully leverage the services that the data providers can provide, the Pharma company needs:
  • The ability to import incremental data feeds from the data supplier into the data model - this needs to be done with 100% accuracy
  • The ability to send data change requests to the data supplier
  • The ability to receive processed change requests back from the data supplier

There have been many unsuccessful or partially successful attempts to achieve this. Common mistakes include
  • Less than 100% accuracy for incremental loads. Many projects have run into trouble a year after deployment when it is apparent that the error rate in the data is growing. Anything less than 100% accuracy causes an exponential increase in data errors over time
  • Implementing import only. This misses the opportunity to leverage the data validation abilities of the data provider and results in growing duplication in the data
  • Lack of feedback to the users. The users of the Siebel system will lose confidence in the data if they are not empowered with a way to request changes and track the progress of such changes

Fusion Integration has built the most successful data supplier interfaces to Siebel available. In addition, we have performed the Siebel customisations necessary to receive the data updates and to communicate the results of data validation back to the users.

In 2004, Fusion Integration deployed the first truly successful 2-way interface between Pharbase and the Janssen-Cilag Siebel system.

In 2005, Fusion Integration deployed a successful 2-way Binleys interface for Sanofi-Aventis, after a full project life-cycle of only 3 months.
